Invitation to Cold Case Justice Initiative’s 10 Year Anniversary Celebration
Join the Cold Case Justice Initiative (CCJI) to commemorate over 10 years of seeking justice and accountability for racially motivated killings during the Civil Rights Era. The celebration will bring together CCJI alums, current student volunteers, victims’ family members, advocates for racial justice, and many others who support CCJI’s efforts, pedagogy, and professional ideals. Learn about CCJI’s continuing work on cases during the Civil Rights Era and in contemporary times, identification of victims of racial violence, and legislative advocacy in helping ensure passage of The Emmett Till Unsolved Civil Rights Crimes Reauthorization Act. Learn what former CCJI volunteers are doing, and learn about current volunteers’ projects. At the awards dinner we will pay tribute to CCJI Founding Co-Director Janis L. McDonald, on her emeritus status, and will bestow the Frank Morris Racial Justice, Civil Rights, and Human Rights Award to CCJI alums and other civil and human rights activists and advocates.
The dinner costs $50 general admission/$30 students. You may pay by credit card or by check addressed to: Syracuse University, with notation “CCJI Dinner registration.” Checks can be mailed to Lisa Cummings, CCJI Administrative Assistant, Syracuse University College of Law, 950 Irving Avenue, Suite 311, Syracuse, NY 13244.
