Newly admitted students, who have submitted all required financial aid application materials, will receive email notification of financial aid eligibility beginning in late March. Award notification to prospective students will continue on a rolling basis throughout the spring and summer as application materials are received.

After the conclusion of the spring semester returning law students will be able to view their financial aid awards (if all required tasks are complete).

Paper award letters will not be mailed. Students are notified via email once financial aid eligibility has been determined.

What You Should Know

  • Award notices will be sent via email. Once you are notified, log onto MySlice to view and print a copy of your award eligibility.
  • Award applicants who want to decline or reduce financial aid offers may do so in writing, by sending an email to financialaid@law.syr.edu
  • You must inform the Office of Financial Aid of any additional awards or resources that
you receive from agencies outside of the College of Law. Receipt of other financial aid
awards not listed on the Award Letter in MySlice may result in an adjustment to your College of Law aid and/or student loans.
  • Students will not be awarded Federal Graduate PLUS loans at the time of the financial
aid notification. Instead, students will be given the opportunity to calculate their loan
needs and apply after the original award notification has been given.
