Gregory L. Thornton L’71 worked as Senior Vice President of Employee Relations and Operations for The Boston Globe/New England Media Group. Before this appointment, in 2002, Thornton was The Boston Globe’s Senior Vice President of Employee Relations (1997-2002) and Vice President of Employee Relations (1988-1997). He also has held employee and labor relations positions at New York News Inc. and Gannett Company Inc.
Gregory has been Chairman and Vice Chairman of the American Newspaper Publishers Association (now the Newspaper Association of America) and Vice Chair of NAA’s Employee Relations Committee. In 2002, he was awarded the Cushing-Gavin Award for Excellence in Labor Relations for Management, given by the Labor Guild of Boston. As a law student, Gregory was a member of the Syracuse Law Review Editorial Board. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University.
Gregory joined the College of Law Board of Advisors in 2003.
