The Hon. Amber Givens-Davis Founded a New Organization

The Hon. Amber Givens-Davis, a state district judge in Dallas, Texas, has founded an organization called Pipeline to Possibilities with three fellow criminal judges. The focus of the after-hours work is to steer at-risk teens from the high school to prison pipeline.

Frederick S. Marty Receives NYSBA President's Pro Bono Award

Frederick S. Marty, former chair of the State Bar’s Trust and Estates Law Section, recently received the NYSBA President’s Pro Bono Award. 

Marty retired from Hiscock Law Firm in 2012, and is actively involved in volunteerism throughout Onondaga County. He is currently president of the Frank and Frances Revoir Foundation, and he also volunteers for programs sponsored by the Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) in Central New York. He also created VLP’s Estate Planning Program, which offers legal advice and document preparation and recruited other attorneys to operate the program. 



Dr. Paul Finkelman Named President of Gratz College in Philadelphia

Dr. Paul Finkelman has been named president of Gratz College in Philadelphia. 

Dr. Finkelman received his B.A in American Studies from Syracuse University, and went onto get his Ph.D in history from the University of Chicago in 1976. He was later a fellow in law and humanities at Harvard Law School. He has held a number of endowed chairs as a tenured professor or as a visitor. He also took emeritus status at Albany Law School, where he was the president’s distinguished professor.

Frank T. Mamat, Foster Swift Labor & Employment attorney, was recently re-elected as Chairman of the Education Foundation for the American Society of Employers, a position he has held since 2006. In addition, Frank has also been accepted as a member of the Private Directors Association. 

Annually selected as one of the top 100 Labor Lawyers in the US by the Labor Relations Institute, Frank focuses his practice on complex labor issues, with a special focus on union matters, contract negotiations and unfair labor practice litigation among other areas.

She handles consent for treatment and surrogate decision making, patient care, EMTALA, and health information privacy issues. Ciardullo also litigates medical staff and other health care controversies.
