J.D., Georgetown University Law CenterB.A., Vanderbilt University After graduating from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Classics, Arnold attended Georgetown University Law Center, where she received her Juris Doctor, cum laude. While at Georgetown, Arnold was a member of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics, as a staff member and then Notes Editor. After graduating from Georgetown, she clerked for Judge Gilbert S. Merritt of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Following her clerkship, she was an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Jones, Day, Reavis and Pogue, in their Issues and Appeals practice group. Following her time at Jones Day, Arnold was an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Nixon Peabody LLP in their Litigation and Insurance Groups, until 2003. While in private practice, Arnold handled matters in all phases of litigation in both federal and state courts, including Federal Courts of Appeals merits briefs and briefs Amicus Curiae, and U.S. Supreme Court Petitions for Certiorari. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and in New Jersey. Arnold is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit; the United States Federal District Court for New Jersey; the United States Federal District Court for the District of Columbia, and the United States Federal District Court for Maryland. She is a member of the American Bar Association, ABA Litigation Section; and the D.C. Bar Association. Arnold has published in the area of legal ethics. She teaches a course in professional responsibility.
