Biography:
Before joining the legal writing faculty, Lynn S. Levey was the Upstate Director of the Center for Court Innovation in Syracuse. CCI is a Manhattan based think tank dedicated to court reform and providing technical assistance on problem-solving court initiatives including community, domestic violence, drug and mental health courts. Before that, she worked for several years at the National Center for State Courts in Williamsburg and Arlington VA. There, she developed numerous regional trainings for criminal justice practitioners including judges, attorneys and law enforcement to improve compliance with the 1994 Violence Against Women Act. She was also an adjunct professor at the College of William and Mary and Georgetown University where she taught criminology courses. She has also worked as a consultant for the US Department of Justice. In addition to teaching at the law school, she will develop and deliver a violence prevention program for Syracuse University students in sororities and fraternities as part of a two year U.S. Department of Education grant.
