Tucker Culbertson is an Assistant Professor of Law and LGBT Studies. Prior to joining the faculty at Syracuse, Professor Culbertson was a Fellow with the Center for the Study of Law and Culture at Columbia Law School and a Lecturer in Political Science at San Francisco State University and UC-Berkeley. Professor Culbertson's research and writing presently focus on counterterrorism, colorblindness, marriage, and the extraterritorial application of the U.S. Constitution. 

His recent and forthcoming works appear, among other places, in Washington University Law Review, University of Miami Law Review, Stanford Journal of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, Journal of Animal Law, Women’s Studies Quarterly, and two anthologies of critical legal theory. 

Professor Culbertson earned an A.B., magna cum laude, from Princeton University, where he studied literary theory and theater, and a J.D. from UC-Berkeley. He is pursuing his Ph.D. in UC-Berkeley’s Jurisprudence and Social Policy Program.
