Colleen Gibbons & Justin Wilson Win 39th Annual Lionel O. Grossman Trial Competition

3Ls Colleen Gibbons  and Justin Wilson  were declared the winners of the College of Law’s 39th Annual Lionel O. Grossman Trial Competition, prevailing over Abdel-Rahman Hamed 3L and Ryan Lefkowitz 2L. Gibbons was also named the Frank H. Armani L’56 Advocacy Award winner for the best overall advocate. 

The presiding judge was the Hon. Glenn T. Suddaby L’85, United States District Judge, Northern District of New York. Final round evaluators were Frank H. Armani L’56 and Hon. William J. Fitzpatrick Jr. '74, L’76, District Attorney, Onondaga County. 

Hosted by the College of Law Moot Court Honor Society, the Lionel O. Grossman Trial Competition provides College of Law students with an opportunity to grow as oral advocates and hone their courtroom experiences. Over the course of several weeks, 18 teams of two College of Law students competed against each other for the opportunity to be finalists. The Competition was judged by 36 volunteers from the local legal community and College of Law professors, including many College of Law alumni
