Hi, my name is Lilian Baah and I’m a rising 2L at Syracuse Law. I’m originally from Ghana, West Africa but live in Connecticut now. I received my Bachelors in Criminal Justice with minors in Sociology and Forensic Psychology at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. I’m the current social chair for the Black Law Students Association here at Syracuse Law. This summer, I worked at the Office of the Public Defender in Maryland and I hope to continue that trend of public service once I graduate from Law school.
My name is Chiara Carni and I am a rising 2L at the College of Law. I was born in Syracuse, New York and grew up in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. I attended the University of Florida and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Family, Youth and Community Sciences with a minor in Disabilities in Society. I am interested in Patent law and Medical Malpractice law.
Alyssa Christian is a rising 2L from Wilkes-Barre, PA. Before attending the College of Law, Alyssa studied marketing at King’s College. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, bike riding, juggling, and watching soccer.
Shannon Cox is a rising 2L at the College of Law. She is originally from Millbrook, NY, and attended Marist College for undergrad, where she received a B.A. in English. Here at Syracuse Law, she is an Editorial Member of Law Review and is participating in the Veteran's Law Clinic. Over the summer, she worked as a judicial intern for Hon. Matthew Doran in Onondaga County Court.
Hi, I am Shannon Dablock, and I am a Syracusian born and raised. I am a rising 2L at the College of Law. I chose Syracuse because of the welcoming environment and the close-knit community. This coming year, I will be a part of the editorial staff on Syracuse’s law review, Phi Alpha Delta, the Catholic Law Students Association, as well as the criminal defense clinic. My favorite class as a 1L was criminal law with Professor Johnson. After law school, I hope to work in family and criminal law. Outside of the law school, I love to attend Syracuse basketball games and love to shop.
My name is Katherine Davis, and I am a 2L from Atlanta, Georgia. I graduated from Syracuse University with a BA in International Relations and a minor in Political Science. My legal interests include criminal and human rights law. This Fall, I will be working at the Criminal Defense Clinic and editing for the Journal of Global Rights and Organizations. My non-legal hobbies include tennis, writing, and Netflix.
I am Maggie French and I am from Syracuse, NY. I went to Syracuse University where I majored in sociology and minored in political science. I am now a rising 2L. During my first year of law school, I made great friends, worked hard, and joined organizations. I am currently a SBA Senator and Media Strategist & Secretary for the Animal Legal Defense Fund.
Hi everyone! I'm Molly Graham. I'm from Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. I went to the University of Tennessee - Knoxville for undergrad. While there, I majored in Social Work, with a minor in Child and Family Studies. While at Syracuse Law, I'm involved in the Student Bar Association, an Ambassador, Family Law Society, and recently joined the Journal of Global Rights and Organizations. Lyndon Hall is a rising 2L at the college of law and is originally from Rome, NY. Lyndon attended Utica College where she received both her B.S. in Accounting and Masters of Business Administration. At Syracuse Law, she is an Alternate Dispute Resolution Division Member, an Editorial Member of Law Review, and the Treasurer of the Corporate Law Society. For her 1L summer, Lyndon was a judicial intern for the Honorable David N. Hurd at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York. After graduation, Lyndon plans to go into either tax or corporate law.
James Horning is a rising 3L at Syracuse University College of Law. He was raised in Scotch Plains, New Jersey and graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor’s in History and a minor in pre-law. At Syracuse Law, James is currently Vice-President for the Criminal Law Society, Vice-Justice for Phi Alpha Theta and Treasurer for the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. This summer James spent his time (virtually) at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. James is an avid football and baseball fan. His teams are the Jets and Mets.
My name is Morgan Keely Hutchinson and I am a rising 2L here at Syracuse Law. During my first year, I was involved in many organizations and had the pleasure of being a Research Assistant for a Syracuse Law alum and Newhouse Professor. My experiences during 1L helped me land a summer legal internship with the DOJ in the Capital Case Section. I am excited for this upcoming year where I will have the chance to be an Associate Editor for Journal of International Law and Commerce and in the Advocacy Honor Society on an Appellate team and ADR division. Greetings! My name is Kylie Mason and I am a 3L at Syracuse Law this year! I am originally from Massachusetts, but I have been in New York for almost seven years now! I went to Siena College ion Loudonville for my undergraduate education where I obtained degrees in Philosophy, Political Science, Italian and Law. I currently serve as one of three Form and Accuracy Editors for the Syracuse Law Review, I am an Ambassador for the Admissions office and I am an LL.M. Mentor with the Office of International Programs. Some of my interests include philosophy, criminal law, state and local government, yoga, animal rights and rock climbing! I cannot wait to meet all of you and help you transition into law school!
My name is Benjamin Miser and I am a 2L from Columbus, Ohio. I graduated from Miami University with a bachelors in Kinesiology. I was a military brat growing up, which made me move 16 different times before college, so I know how to help with relocation! Also, I’m on the Syracuse University Cheer Team. 'Cuse is my favorite place on earth!
My name is Frances Rivera Reyes and I am originally from Puerto Rico. I earned a BA Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting and Human Resource Management. During undergrad I was actively involved with The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Prior to law school, I worked as an Auditor at EY (Ernst & Young) in San Juan, PR. I am fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
I am currently a 3L at the Syracuse University College of Law. There, I am a member of the Advocacy Honor Society (Moot Court), the Journal of International Law and Commerce, the Student Bar Association, the Law Ambassadors, and the Student Affairs Leadership Team. I also often participate in events held by different student organizations such as the Latin American Law Students Association and the Women Law Students Association.
Sergio Rumayor is a 3L from Staten Island, New York. He graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2018 and received his BA in Criminal Justice and English. At Syracuse Law he is a member of the Advocacy Honor Society Trial Division, LALSA, the Catholic Law Students Association, and is President of the Federalist Society. Sergio recently completed the DCEx program during the Spring 2020 semester where he was placed in the Office of White House Counsel. Over the summer he worked for HBW Resources, an energy firm in Washington D.C. as well as the Office of the Richmond County District Attorney in the Criminal Court Bureau. Sergio's favorite class 1L year was torts. He plans to take the New York State Bar Exam in July 2021.
Morgan Steele grew up in Caracas, Venezuela and now lives in Syracuse, New York. She graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a degree in History. In her free time, Morgan enjoys running, reading and tackling fun baking projects. Morgan is interested in a career in appellate law.
Grace Sullivan is a 2L at Syracuse University College of Law. She grew up in Saranac Lake, NY, a small town in the Adirondacks. She graduated from the University of Vermont with B.A. in Religion and Political Science in 2018. She loves getting outside to hike, run, or cross-country ski.
Joe Tantillo is a 3L from Buffalo, New York. He completed his undergraduate studies at The University of St Andrews in Scotland, where he majored in International Relations. After college, he completed his master’s degree at The University of Oxford in England, where he majored in Criminology and Criminal Justice. At Syracuse Law, Joe is the Executive Director of the Travis H.D. Lewin Advocacy Honor Society and an Associate Notes Editor for the Syracuse Law Review. This summer, Joe is working as a summer associate for Hodgson Russ LLP in Buffalo. He hopes to pursue a career in civil litigation. He also enjoys photography, video games, and watching the Buffalo Bills.
My name is Marissa Thomas and I am a joint-degree law and public relations student with a focus in brand management. I’m currently working on a thesis about equity and inclusion and the Oscars. I am most interested in trademark law, wills and trusts and all things corporate law. I really struggled getting adjusted to law school and look forward to sharing the tips that helped me make it through. You’re most likely to see me in the grocery store as I am an avid couponer and always willing to share!
Hi!! My name is Cierra Thomas. I am from Indianapolis. I went to a really small liberal arts school in Indiana called Hanover College [fun fact Woody Harrelson went there as well]. I was a biology major and triple minored in Irish Studies, philosophy, and international political science. I decided to go to Syracuse to hopefully open up windows for myself outside of the Midwest. I really enjoy going hiking, XO Tacos, and New Girl.
Hello! My name is Gabriella Verdone, I am from Long Island, NY! I went to a small college in Connecticut called Fairfield University - located right on the beach. I studied Communication and Political Science as an undergrad. I chose Syracuse because of its amazing networking and a strong sense of community. My favorite things to do are playing the piano, going for runs, and binge-watching The Office.
