We are currently finalizing the details of the 2017 Orientation Program. For information on last year's program, please see below.
The 2016 J.D. Orientation program will be Monday, August 15th to Thursday, August 18th. All portions of this program are mandatory for all entering J.D. students.
When you arrive for Orientation you will receive a packet of materials that will include your personal fall class schedule, a copy card, your Syracuse University ID card (if you submitted your digital photo to Admissions), your locker number and other important information.
The LL.M. Orientation program will be Monday, August 15th to Thursday, August 18th. All portions of this program are mandatory. LL.M. students are also strongly encouraged to arrive to Syracuse during the week of Monday, August 8th, in order to complete course registration and various other administrative details for incoming international students to Syracuse University.
General Orientation Information:
- Information for Families (directions, parking, opening convocation, reception, etc.)
- New students should have received an email from Parking Services regarding purchasing your parking permit. If you haven't yet done so, click here for parking permit information. Your pre-purchased permit will be in effect as of August 17th. Parking Services will not ticket cars in the Stadium lot on the first two days of Orientation (8/15 & 8/16).
- Syracuse Chiefs Game - Thursday, August 18th at 6:35 p.m. (all J.D. and LL.M. students are invited)
Wrap up Orientation and come cheer on our local baseball team, the Syracuse Chiefs on Thursday 8/18 at 6:35 p.m. as they take on Lehigh Valley! Tickets for students are only $5.00. If you would like to bring a non-student, guest ticket price is $10.00. Everyone gets a hat and it's Dollar Thursday ($1 hotdogs/sodas, $2 beers)! The College of Law will have our own section in the 100 level. To participate, email the Office of Student Life at email@example.com no later than Thursday, 8/11 to reserve your spot. The Student Mentors will be there too!
- Graduate Welcome Shuttle Service
The Graduate Student Organization (GSO) will provide new graduate students with the Graduate Welcome Shuttle Service from August 1st - August 27th. The shuttle will welcome graduate students arriving at the Regional Transportation Center (train/bus station) and the Syracuse Airport, and deliver you to your residence or other destination. If you opt to use this service, you will need to complete a form (providing contact information and arrival details).
