John J. Leo III L'03

John J. Leo III earned his Bachelor of Arts from Binghamton University in 1999 and his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 2003. During law school, Mr. Leo worked for the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office and Mannion Copani. He was also a Dineen Scholar.

Mr. Leo began his career as a law clerk for the Court of Common Pleas, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and worked in private practice in greater Philadelphia, defending medical malpractice cases. He has been an Associate with Kaufman Borgeest & Ryan LLP, in Parsippany, New Jersey, since 2008. Mr. Leo represents doctors, medical practices, and hospitals in medical malpractice litigation; businesses in premises and general liability litigation; professionals including home inspectors, insurance brokers, and engineers in liability matters; and employers in employment practices litigation. He has co-authored and published articles in the New Jersey Law Journal and the American Bar Association’s Professionals’ Officers’ and Directors’ Liability Committee Newsletter. He practices throughout New Jersey in state and federal courts and in the state and federal courts of eastern Pennsylvania.

Mr. Leo lives with his wife, Ursula H. Leo, L ’03, and two daughters in Green Township, New Jersey. He is an avid Orange fan with the Syracuse University Northern New Jersey Alumni Club.
