Nathan Wheatley L'02
Mr. Wheatley is currently a partner in the Salt Lake City office of Snell & Wilmer. He practices in the firm's commercial litigation department, with a particular emphasis in complex commercial disputes. He represents companies, organizations and individuals in both federal and state courts in a variety of litigation matters, including cases involving contracts, intellectual property, corporate and partner disputes, business torts, securities, corporate fraud, and unfair competition. Additionally, Mr. Wheatley has handled civil litigation matters in a variety of other substantive areas including: professional liability; shareholder derivative, partnership and member control; fiduciary duty; non-competition; product liability; as well as real estate and land use matters. He is admitted to the State Bar of Utah, and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
Mr. Wheatley has been recognized as one of Utah's "Legal Elite" by Utah Business magazine, as well as a Mountain States Rising Star by Law & Politics magazine. He is a member of and active in several bar associations, including the Federal Bar Association, the Salt Lake and Davis County Bar Associations and the Utah Defense Lawyers Association. In addition to his practice at Snell & Wilmer, Mr. Wheatley volunteers his time and expertise with the Rocky Mountain Innocence Center, which works to correct and prevent the conviction of innocent people in Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming, and the Utah State Bar's "Tuesday Night Bar," a free legal advice program in Salt Lake sponsored by the Utah State Bar and the Young Lawyers Division. He is also on the Board of Directors of Discovery Gateway (formerly known as the Children's Museum of Utah).
