Seth Eichenoltz L'02Seth Eichenholtz is a 2002 graduate of Syracuse University College of Law.  He currently works in Brooklyn, New York as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.  While at the College of Law, Mr. Eichenholtz was active in the Law Student Senate, serving as a Class Senator during his 1L year, Senate Vice President during his 2L year, and Senate President in his 3L year. While serving as Senate President, Mr. Eichenholtz had the opportunity to represent the students at the College of Law on the committee that hired current College of Law Dean Arterian.  Mr. Eichenholtz was also a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and was active in the Jewish Law Students Association.

In the summer following his second year of law school, Mr. Eichenholtz worked as a Summer Honors Intern in the Special Federal Litigation Division of the New York City Law Department. Upon graduation from the College of Law, he joined the New York City Law Department as an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Special Federal Litigation Division.  Mr. Eichenholtz immediately assumed responsibility for his own case load, representing the City of New York in civil rights cases brought in federal court, involving the New York Police Department and Department of Correction.  While with the New York City Law Department, Mr. Eichenholtz successfully tried five civil rights cases to verdicts favorable to the City, and resolved numerous other cases.  From 2005-2007, Mr. Eichenholtz also served as a supervising attorney in the Division, and helped produce a training video for new Assistant Corporate Counsels.

In October 2007, Mr. Eichenholtz became an Assistant United States Attorney ("AUSA") in the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York's Civil Division.  As a Civil AUSA, Mr. Eichenholtz represents the interests of the United States.  In addition to successfully defending the government in lawsuits alleging employment discrimination, personal injury, and civil rights violations, Mr. Eichenholtz has successfully litigated affirmative civil enforcement cases to protect the interests of the residents of the Eastern District, including one in which he obtained an injunction stopping a company from selling contaminated cheese, and one in which he obtained a settlement that allowed, in accordance with disability laws, a 91-year-old resident of a co-op building with a "no pets" policy to live with her support animal.

Mr. Eichenholtz is a member of the New York State Bar Association, and annually volunteers as a judge for the New York State High School Mock Trial Competition, sponsored by the Bar Association's Law, Youth and Citizenship Committee.  Mr. Eichenholtz also plays on an amateur volleyball team in his spare time, also serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the Gotham Volleyball League, a community-focused adult league.
