Stephanie JonesSTEPHANIE JONES graduated from Michigan State University in 2000 with a B.S. in Biochemistry.  She received her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 2003, where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Syracuse Law and Technology Journal (now the Syracuse Science and Technology Law Reporter) and participated in the Grant Opportunities (GO) Program (now the Syracuse Public Interest Network) for public service legal work.  Ms. Jones also served as a Senior Research Associate at the Technology Commercialization Research Center under Professor Ted Hagelin. 

Ms. Jones is an associate at the law firm of Harness, Dickey & Pierce, PLC in Troy, Michigan.  In 2010, Intellectual Property Law Today Magazine ranked Harness, Dickey & Pierce as number five (5) among 356 patent firms in the United States. 

Ms. Jones' practice includes patent preparation, patent prosecution, and opinion work related to athletic devices, medical devices, biomaterials, fuel cells, and pharmaceuticals.  Ms. Jones has extensive experience in intellectual property due diligence for medical device company mergers and acquisitions.  A portion of Ms. Jones' practice is also dedicated to intellectual property litigation. 

Ms. Jones is active in the legal community in Michigan and currently serves as the 2010-2011 President-Elect of the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association, whose mission is to increase diversity in the legal profession and to assist underserved communities in Oakland County.  She continues to work within the greater community mentoring local high school and law students and volunteering at local food banks. 

Ms. Jones served as an assistant editor for the ABA IPLaw Newsletter and regularly speaks at various Michigan law schools including recent engagements at the University of Michigan, Michigan State University College of Law, and the University of Detroit.  In November of 2010 Ms. Jones was recognized as a "2010 Up & Coming Lawyer" by Michigan Lawyers Weekly for her extensive legal work and community service contributions.
