Zabrina Jenkins L'00

Zabrina JenkinsZABRINA JENKINS received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Central Washington University, her Master of Science degree from Syracuse University School of Education and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law in 2000.

Ms. Jenkins is Director, Corporate Counsel for Starbucks Coffee Company in Seattle, Washington, a position she has held since 2005. In her position as corporate counsel, she oversees commercial and general liability litigation for retail locations in North America, and provides legal advice and counsel to Starbucks management and partners relating to potential and actual litigation, primarily in the areas of real estate, commercial, and general business law. She currently serves as an advisor to the company's Policy Governance Council, and has served on the Diversity Committee for the Law & Corporate Affairs department and as the co-coordinator of the department's summer intern program.

Prior to joining Starbucks, Ms. Jenkins was an Associate at the Seattle office of Garvey Schubert Barer. During her tenure with the firm, she focused her practice on commercial litigation matters, including labor and employment litigation.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Jenkins is an active volunteer in both legal and civic organizations. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Central Washington University College of Business and the Washington Attorneys Assisting Community Organizations (WAACO) Advisory Board.  Ms. Jenkins is also a mentor to the Seattle University Community Development and Entrepreneurship Clinic (CDEC), a fellow to the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) Leadership Institute, and serves on the Board of the Future of the Law Institute, which works to encourage minority and economically disadvantaged high school students to explore careers in the legal profession.

Ms. Jenkins previously served on the Advisory Board of the Central Washington University Foundation, the Board of Washington Women Lawyers and the Loren Miller Bar Association Board from 2005 to 2007. She was also a member of the Phillip L. Burton Scholarship Dinner Committee from 2003 to 2006, serving as chair of the 2006 Committee. Ms. Jenkins has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Washington Law & Politics magazine.
