Our mission is to teach professionalism and job search skills which will serve graduates in their career planning as well as in their legal practice and to work in conjunction with employers, faculty, alumni and other administrators to maximize opportunities for the College of Law community.
Working one-on-one with students and alumni, we assist them with crafting job search strategies which focus on their interests and capitalize on their strengths.
Counselors in the Office of Professional & Career Development will review resumes and cover letters and guide alumni to resources and networking opportunities.
Symplicity CSM - Symplicity is the main on-line platform for students and alumni to apply for many jobs and to access information on a variety of areas including: electronic job postings, announcements regarding Professional Development Events, resources in the document library including the Job Search Guide, and Vault.
Reciprocity - The College of Law has reciprocity agreements with many law schools which allow students and alumni to use the career resources at other law schools during the job search process. From July 15 through November 15 Syracuse University College of Law and most other law schools are "closed" to reciprocity requests. For other resources, please visit Symplicity CSM and browse the Document Library.
The Office of Professional & Career Opportunities also works with alumni who want to assist current students. If you would like to volunteer for programming or if you would like to participate in employer programming and hiring, please contact the office at 315-443-1941 or firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also contact any of the counselors directly.
