Hon. Patrick J. O’Sullivan is currently the County Judge for Madison County, which is a multi-bench judicial position (County Court, Surrogate’s Court and Family Court). Prior to becoming a judge, he was a seasoned trial attorney with more than 20 years of experience, having tried cases to verdict in State and Federal Courts throughout Upstate New York.

Judge O’Sullivan, who was born and raised in the Bronx, graduated from Western Michigan University - Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan in 1993, received his Master’s Degree from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York in 1990, and completed his undergraduate studies at Daemen College in Amherst, New York in 1985. Judge O’Sullivan was admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey in 1993 and the State of New York in l 994. He was also admitted to practice in the United States District Court Northern District of New York and the United States District Court of New Jersey. He was a long time member of the Million Dollar Advocates and had been repeatedly recognized by his peers as one of the Top Trial Attorneys in Upstate New York, as recently published in the 2013 Edition of Super Lawyers Magazine.

Judge O’Sullivan teaches Trial Practice at Syracuse University College of Law and was also a member of the adjunct faculty at the State University of New York at Morrisville, where he taught New York Criminal Procedure and New York Penal Law. Prior to becoming an attorney, he taught high school science in New York City and Yonkers.

Judge O’Sullivan lives in Cazenovia, New York with his wife Susan, and their three children: Jacqueline, Hannah and Jake.
