Samuel Gardiner

 

COL. SAMUEL GARDINER, USAF RET., is an expert on military strategy and designing and facilitating war games. In 2004 and 2005, Col. Gardiner conducted two war games, sponsored by The Atlantic Monthly, addressing the military and nuclear threats posed by Iran and North Korea, which were designed to gage how an American President might respond to these threats, militarily or otherwise. He also has taught and conducted war games at the National War College, the Naval War College, and the Air War College, and was a visiting scholar at the Swedish Defense College. During the second Gulf War, Col. Gardiner was a regular contributor to the PBS NewsHour with Jim Lehrer and in 2003 he authored the study, “Truth from These Podia. Summary of a Study of Strategic Influence, Perception Management, Strategic Information Warfare and Strategic Psychological Operations in Gulf II.” More recently Col. Gardiner has worked with the U.S. Department of State on fragile state strategies and he has been a regular guest on Al-Hurrah, Middle East Television.
