20th Annual Public Interest Auction

2009 Annual Public Interest Auction

The bells of justice are tolling, will you heed the call?

Answer the call on November 9th at our 20th Annual Public Interest Auction hosted by the Palace Theater. The Auction opens with a cocktail hour, two silent auctions, and Hors d’Oeuvres at 6:30pm. Live Auction begins at 8pm. This is one of the most exciting events of the Fall! Law students get the chance to bid on dinners and performances from their professors! Professors, faculty, parents, community members, and friends get the opportunity to bid on local services, dinner at restaurants, vacations, jewelry, and more! The best part is that all bids are for justice! A list of this year’s sponsors and donations coming soon...

The Syracuse Public Interest Network (SPIN) is a student-run organization at the Syracuse University College of Law (SUCOL) committed to fostering the careers of students who intend to advocate for the public interest. SPIN raises money to provide grants for SUCOL students with SPIN Fellowships, who are employed during the summer in the public interest legal field. Proceeds from the 20th Annual Public Interest Auction benefit law students at SUCOL, ensuring that law students have the opportunity to work in public interest positions in the community and throughout the nation. By supporting students who would otherwise be financially unable to take positions in the public interest sector, SPIN increases legal services to those who can least afford them, and often who are most in need of them.

In 2012, SPIN was able to raise over $35,000, which allowed us to provide 14 Fellowships to the College of Law students working across the United States and one student working in Africa. See Spin Fellows.  If you would like to help make this year even more successful, please donate here.
