Michelle Wilcox G’12 directs and manages the Office of Student Life, including supervision of student life staff and overseeing all functions of the Office, including student activities and organizations. Michelle develops and executes all student events, including orientation, SPIN Auction, Pinnacle Awards, end of year banquets, student organization symposia, intra-school advocacy and transactional competitions, and commencement.

She is responsible for advising, planning and managing many important student programs, including: Student Bar Association and class leadership; more than 30 student organizations; journals and publications; Moot Court Honor Society and the student mentoring program. She works closely with Kelly Curtis, Assistant Dean of Students, to assist students in reaching their academic and professional goals while enrolled at the College of Law.

Michelle was previously the College of Law’s Associate Director for Student Life – Student Programs. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Babson College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Syracuse University.

Deborah S. O’Malley oversees all aspects of the student experience for international Master of Laws (LL.M.) students at the College of Law. She provides LL.M. students with ongoing academic advising and support and guides them on professional opportunities while they are students at the College of Law. She works with faculty and staff at the College of Law, Syracuse University, and with members of the greater community to develop resources and opportunities for the LL.M. student population. She is also responsible for developing and executing programs to assist the LL.M. students with their adjustment to life in the United States and the American law school experience. Deborah teaches Legal Writing for International Students and Intro to the Study of American Law.

Prior to joining the LL.M. program, Deborah served as the Director of Professional Development at the Syracuse University College of Law. She also spent four years as a Legal Writing Professor at the College of Law. Before joining the College of Law, Deborah was an associate with the law firm of Gilberti Stinziano Heintz & Smith, P.C. in Syracuse; she also practiced law at a small law firm in Idaho. Deborah has been actively involved in local bar associations, serving as a College of Law representative on the Board of Directors for the Onondaga County Bar Association. She’s also been active in the Central New York Women’s Bar Association and is a past president of the organization.

Deborah holds a J.D. cum laude from American University – Washington College of Law and a B.A. from Iowa State University.

Courtney Abbott Hill L’09 received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Nazareth College of Rochester and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law. During law school, Courtney was Managing Editor of the Syracuse Law Review, where her Note was selected for publication, and she was inducted into the Justinian Honor Society and the Order of the Coif. After graduation, she served as a Court Attorney with the New York State Appellate Division, Fourth Department, before transitioning to a career focused on law student success as a Regional Director with a national bar review provider.

Abbott Hill is responsible for helping law students reach their full academic potential, with an emphasis on the skills needed to be successful on the bar exam. She develops and implements programming focused on academic success for students throughout their career at the College of Law. In addition, Abbott Hill provides academic advising for all law students and teaches a third-year law seminar.

In addition to her role as Associate Director in the Office of Student Life, Courtney also serves as an Adjunct Professor, teaching a third-year law seminar.
