Carolyn Abdenour "I chose Syracuse University College of Law because it matched my professional and personal interests. Syracuse University has top joint degree programs, and I hope to pursue a joint JD and masters in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. Additionally, Syracuse Law has strong connections with Washington DC that I can capitalize on for networking opportunities and career options. Lastly, SUCOL is on the main campus of Syracuse University. As a part of the main campus, I can participate in the campus community and show my school spirit at basketball and football games." |

Melissa Crowley "As a lifelong resident of New York, I chose to study at Syracuse University College of Law because I wanted the opportunity to continue to work and live in this beautiful and community-oriented region of northern New York. The support and one-on-one commitment of the faculty and staff here at Syracuse Law made me feel like the professors and the university were devoted to helping me succeed in any way they could. Finally, the fact that the name of this university is recognized nationally made me realize that no matter where I end up practicing law, potential employers will know the high level of legal education that I received at Syracuse Law." |

Greg Donaldson "I chose Syracuse Law because of its esteemed national reputation. Having grown up in a state far away from New York, I was impressed by the fact that many of the people I knew were so familiar with Syracuse Law. The prestige of the law school was further manifested to me as I worked in Washington D.C. over the summer. When I told people I had been admitted to Syracuse Law their congratulations were endless. Combining the reputation of the law school with the various joint degree programs offered, it would have been a mistake on my part not to enroll at Syracuse Law." |

Syracuse has an excellent quality of life, allowing students to maintain a good balance between work and life. Additionally, I am looking forward to exploring the many joint degree opportunities within Syracuse University." |

Emilee Gaebler "Syracuse Law was my choice because of the variety of programs offered. Entering law school I was unsure of the field I wished to practice in and Syracuse Law had so many certificate options for students to take advantage of. Since entering law school, I have found all the professors to be incredibly involved and helpful in mentoring and developing my growth as a student. The variety of courses has really been exciting for me and has allowed me to pursue a number of different interests." |

Megan Marcantonio "Both growing up in Syracuse and the reputation of Syracuse University College of Law convinced me that I wanted to stay in my hometown and undergo my studies in one of upstate New York's most prestigious legal research facilities. The access to alumni and real world legal experiences here exceeds that of other law schools I toured during my application process. My interest in obtaining a dual degree was satisfied by the College of Law's relationships with both Syracuse University and neighboring Upstate University. As a non-traditional student, it was important for me to remain where I had strong ties to the community while still obtaining a high quality law degree that I can take with me wherever I practice. I am achieving all of these things by attending Syracuse University College of Law." |

Elizabeth Molino "It seemed to me that Syracuse Law promoted a well-rounded legal education more than the other institutions that I considered in my law school application process. Also, as a native to New York state, it was important to me that I attend a law school with a strong reputation in the state and geographic region where I intend to practice law after graduation." |

Katherine Reardon "I chose Syracuse because of its expansive alumni network and impressive national reputation. Syracuse has a wealth of programs and societies incorporating law and technology, something I am passionate about given my business and engineering background. Moreover, I came from a very connected undergraduate university and this was important to me in law school as well. Syracuse shined for me because of the great collegiate community of which the law school is a part. Already I have networked with alumni and have made connections that I foresee lasting well beyond my years at SUCOL and into my professional career." |

Jemeli Tanui "After living and working as a journalist in Syracuse as a public relations writer for Syracuse University, I knew that the Syracuse University College of Law was a perfect fit for me. I love the University's vision and connection to the community and world affairs. The College of Law is a showcase for Syracuse's mission that takes learning out of classrooms and into the real world through various ways. For example, I love that the professors at the College of Law are actively engaged in projects that not only make a difference in the world, but also introcude students to real life lawyering with all its excitements and challenges. One program I most admire and hope to participate in includes the Cold Case Justice Initiative (CCJI), which seeks justice for families of the hundreds murdered during the Civil Rights Era. I am also drawn to the College of Law's Clinical Legal Education programs, which give students, under the supervision of licensed attorneys, real life opportunities to practice law and offer free legal services to many families and individuals who may not otherwise be able to get access to the justice system. I am proud to be part of these programs and hope to continue giving back to my community. I've made some wonderful connections among my peers, professors, and staff, as well as professional lawyers in the Central New York community, that I know will last a lifetime." |

Chris Tommarello "I knew Syracuse University College of Law was the right school for me for a variety of reasons. One factor that prompted me to attend are the diverse academic programs available. The school offers a wide array of topics to study in law, as well as numerous opportunities to receive joint degrees from nationally ranked programs. Additionally, the school boasts excellent ways for students to get involved while attending and to stay connected as an alum. Most importantly, I chose SUCOL for the wonderful professors, staff and students. When I visited the school I visited the admissions office and spoke with an admissions counselor about my fears and anxieties of attending law school. The counselor was more than comforting and made me feel like I was part of a family before I had even begun. The atmosphere and learning environment at Syracuse Law is unlike any other that I had come across and it makes Syracuse a standout law school." |

Marysia Wlazlo "The career paths followed by Syracuse University College of Law's alumnae indicate the broad scope of possibilities awaiting SUCOL's graduates. The Law in London program, as well as a variety of joint degree programs, distinguishes SUCOL from other law schools. In addition to providing for the educational needs of their students, SU Law school faculty and staff have developed an extensive student outreach program. The unexpected orange tee shirt all admitted students receive in their acceptance packet is just the beginning of a continuing program designed to insure that all SUCOL students benefit from the wide array of resources available to members of the law school community." |

Katherine Wytka "I chose Syracuse Law because I was told how great the students were. Since I've arrived, I've found that statement to be true. Law school is competitive, but the difference at Syracuse is that students are cooperative and build unity to achieve a common goal. Since the College of Law's nationally recognized name draws students from all over the country, it's easy to relate and bond with classmates because many are going through the same experience of being far from friends and family." |
