Gerard 'Rod' Saggese III L'99

Gerard 'Rod' Saggese IIIROD SAGGESE earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law in 1999. While at the College of Law, he was a member of the Syracuse Law Review and the Moot Court Honor Society. Prior to law school, Mr. Saggese earned his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Gettysburg College in 1996. He is licensed to practice law in both Connecticut and New York.

Mr. Saggese is currently a partner in the Litigation Department of Whitman Breed Abbott & Morgan LLC, a full service law firm based in Greenwich, Connecticut, where his practice is focused in the areas of commercial litigation, general civil litigation and intellectual property. Mr. Saggese's litigation experience includes: general commercial disputes based in breach of contract, business torts and fraud; construction disputes and mechanic's liens; commercial and residential landlord-tenant disputes; fiduciary litigation involving trustees, executors and corporate officers; employment disputes; and contested issues involving real property. His intellectual property practice includes litigation involving trademark infringement, unfair competition and copyright infringement as well as proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Mr. Saggese was previously associated with the international law firm of White & Case LLP, where he worked in the Intellectual Property Group of the Litigation Department in the New York City office. Thereafter, he was associated with the Commercial Litigation Department of Entwistle & Cappucci LLP, also in New York City.   

 In addition to his practice, Mr. Saggese has spent the last year as President of the Greenwich Bar Association and was a member of the Connecticut Council of Bar Presidents. He was recently elected to a two-year term on the Board of Directors of the Fairfield County Bar Association. Mr. Saggese is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and American Bar Association. Since 2006, Mr. Saggese has coached the mock trial team at Greenwich Catholic School, and has been a member of the Town of Greenwich Community and Police Partnership since 2008.
