David Tal
DAVID TAL, PH.D., is the Kahanoff Chair in Israel Studies and a professor of History at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. His research and teaching focus on the history of Israel - particularly Israeli military and security history, the Arab and Palestinian-Israeli conflicts, and nuclear proliferation and disarmament. Dr. Tal is the author of Israel's Current Security Conception: its Origin and Development (1998), War in Palestine 1948: Strategy and Diplomacy (2004) and The American Nuclear Disarmament Dilemma, 1945-1963 (2008). He is INSCT Research Associate at Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York and a Research Fellow at the S. Daniel Abraham Center for International and Regional Studies, Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel. Dr. Tal received his Ph.D. in history from Tel-Aviv University.
